I’m patient and disciplined and enjoy the reward of helping students move past plateaus in their learning, and with a diverse background in many subject areas I can adapt lessons and study to a wide range of individual needs. My Tutoring & Teaching Experience
I was made an associate fellow of the higher education academy in 2019 for my work with the graduate entry medicine society at King's College London and have arranged lecture-based sessions on topics in adult medicine and surgery and practical examination sessions for second and third year students. I have also organised a two-day intensive revision course for third year students, which has involved recruiting speakers, creating and disseminating lecture materials, venue organisation and scheduling. This is a role I have thoroughly enjoyed and has sparked an interest in incorporating medical education and teaching into my future career.
My Approach to Tutoring
Having studied engineering to degree level, english, physics, history and maths at A-level and being a current medical student, I have a diverse educational background covering core subjects to a high standard. I understand the importance of making study topics fun, relatable and relevant to the real world as well as proper exam technique to apply learned knowledge as effectively as possible.
My Client Testimonials
-
University Mechanical Engineering
"I had Ben for three sessions over the course of a week on a topic that I didn't know much about and needed some quick fire revision for an upcoming exam. He made example questions and walked through them with me. He also found textbooks online relating to my studies and was able to show different methods towards my studies and help me understand the easiest and most efficient way. "
