• Where To Apply
  It is difficult to differentiate between the strategy houses, and it is hard to know which ones are trully excellent at which industries. Our consultants and ex consultants can sit down with you and help you sort the wheat from the chaff and give you their informed opinion about the strengths and weaknesses of each consultancy. Which ones are more numerical? Which do more operations and which more pure strategy? Which are strongest in financial services? Which are strongest in retail? Where will I fit in best? These are all common questions we get and ones we can answer for you or help you think through.
• Application, CV & Cover Letter Crafting
  All consultancies have an algorithmic CV scoring mechanism, there are certain levers you need to emphasise in your CV. These are similar, but with some differences to the investment banking criteria. We can offer you one or two sessions with an ex consultant to help tweak your CV as needed. This step can even be done remotely by email or over the phone.
• Pre-Interview Test Practice
  Verbal, non-verbal and numerical reasoning tests are similar in investment banking and strategy consultancy. Some of the consultancy tests are quite challenging, particularly for those without a mathematical background. Most are online through a web portal, however they all have their idiosyncracies: McKinsey has a written test that is slightly different in style from the others while Oliver Wyman’s numerical test can stump candidates from a non-mathematical background.
• The Actual Interviews
  Interviews are the most important and the most challenging part of the application process. The only way to get good at these interviews is practice. Consultancies tend ask two types of interviews: market sizing and strategic / business cases. We have several consultants and ex consultants who have first hand experience interviewing applicants and know what interviewers are looking for. Our tutors will help you learn how to structure your response to an interview question (as structure is more important than getting the exact answer the interviewer is looking for). Through mock interviews, our tutors can give you detailed feedback on what you need to work on.
