I am a recent graduate of the University of Oxford, where I received a first-class MPhil in Politics. I am a graduate of Durham University, where I completed a BA in English and Philosophy. Although I went to university in the UK, I grew up in New York, and completed all of my schooling in America. I attended one of the top boarding schools in the country, Groton School, on an academic scholarship. I took the SAT and AP exams, earning some of the highest scores in my class for both. I have been tutoring since the age of 15, as part of a tutoring program at Groton. I continued at university for English and Philosophy students, and post-graduation, here in London. Having attended both US and UK education systems, I understand and can work with both curriculums, especially with school and university entrance exams and processes. ...
I am a friendly, encouraging teacher with over a decade's experience, particularly with students aged 11-13. Since graduating from Cambridge 13 years ago I have taught students of all sorts of abilities and ages (5-58) anywhere from Notting Hill to Nairobi. My curiosity about the world has drawn me to journalism as well as teaching. I worked at the Telegraph for two years and now I write about arts and culture for The Economist’s 1843, The Spectator and Apollo magazines. I am also the co-author of 'What on Earth is Going On? A Crash Course in Current Affairs' (HarperCollins, 2009 - Sunday Times 'Stocking Filler of the Year'). Both my teaching and writing are informed by a desire to understand the world, and to help others do so too. ...
I graduated from Oriel College, Oxford in July 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature. Throughout my school career I have balanced academic life with competitive tennis as a government funded, semi-professional player. This required huge drive and efficiency, for which I was rewarded with a stellar set of results at both GCSE and A-Level and a place at Oxford. Before starting my degree, I began tutoring part-time and have since helped children of a range of ages and abilities achieve similar academic excellence. I specialise in entrance to the UK's top schools, and have tutored students towards 7+, 8+, 11+ and Common Entrance to Westminster, St. Paul's and King's College to name a few. I am also interested in preparing students for Oxbridge entrance, and look to develop a student's passion for subjects beyond the syllabus not only immediately preceding their application, but in the years prior. I wish to help as many students as possible reach their desired academic goals and hugely enjoy transferring my own knowledge to my young protégées. ...
I am a current graduate student based in London, studying Sustainable Urban Planning & Design. I have tutored a wide variety of students, from college applicants to high school students in Boston to refugees in Stockholm. I specialize in English tutoring and writing assistance, but have familiarity with all subjects. I speak five languages: Spanish, Swedish, Portuguese, French, and of course, English. I grew up in Portland, Oregon, and am a dual Swedish-American citizen. ...
I am a Cambridge University graduate, with experience tutoring a broad range of subjects. After University, I moved to Madrid for a year, where I tutored English, while studying to achieve the Instituto Cervantes DELE C1 qualification, giving me Undergraduate Degree level Spanish. ...
I have been a tutor since I began my undergraduate degree at Oxford in 2013. I graduated with the highest first class degree in English Language and Literature at my college, Christ Church. At Christ Church I was also an Academic Scholar and holder of a Gibbs Prize for achieving a Distinction in Preliminary Examinations and coming 10th in a year of 240 students. In 2016, I started a Masters degree in English Language and Literature at University College London, where I was awarded the Shakespeare and Rhetoric Prize by Professor Brian Vickers. In 2018, I was awarded a fully-funded place on Oxford's DPhil (PhD) programme by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. Since then, I have been a lecturer and tutor at Christ Church and New College, teaching English Literature from the Renaissance to the present. I have also twice been an interviewer for the Oxford admissions interview.

Throughout my time at Oxford and UCL, I have accumulated extensive experience tutoring privately for a range of abilities, from pre-test to university admissions, including undergraduate and postgraduate study. Although my main subject is English, I have a strong interest in other languages and arts. Having grown up in Paris with dual English/Italian nationality, I am a native speaker of English, Italian and French, and can speak conversational Spanish. My interest and ability in History of Art has lead me to teaching the subject for the General Paper of the Eton Oppidan Scholarship. My constant desire to learn and develop intellectually is something which is greatly helped by tutoring, and this passion is one I seek to instil in all my tutees. ...
I am a home-schooling specialist and trained teacher, with a Cambridge first-class degree and experience working at a top UK boarding school. Having taught classes of students of wide-ranging abilities, I am aware of the importance of catering for the specific needs of individuals; this is what primarily draws me to tutoring. There is nothing more satisfying than having the time to sit and work through the challenges that a particular student is facing, one-to-one. As a teacher, I know the value that this can add to both their achievement and also their enjoyment of schoolwork. So often seemingly overwhelming problems are born of a simple misunderstanding which can be quickly ironed out within individual tutor time, and I thoroughly enjoy getting to know the individual learning styles and interests of my students. ...
I was educated at Westminster School and Oxford, and have worked as a private English tutor since the beginning of the 2016 academic year. My students have ranged in age from six to eighteen, studied a variety of different curricula, and all have specific needs that I strive to meet in every lesson.I continually work to pass on my great love of literature to every student I teach. I've been lucky enough to have experienced great teaching throughout my whole life; it is my passion and my privilege to pass on my love of learning. ...
