My Education & Qualifications

    Mathematics with Economics (BSc):

My Tutoring & Teaching Experience

I began teaching when I was 15 where I started a drama club at my local Persian language school. I would write plays in both English and Farsi and create games and ice-breakers for the younger students to become comfortable performing on stage. Since graduating from University, I have helped friends who are studying the ACCA and CFA with their basic mathematics knowledge, and have over 200 hours of secondary school maths tuition experience.

My Approach to Tutoring

My approach to tutoring has always been to focus on improving confidence. I have worked with students who struggle with a subject, and I have found that the majority of the time this is due to lack of self confidence rather than ability. I believe that only if you have the right level of self belief are you able to achieve your best and truly enjoy learning the subject you are studying.

I always have a good rapport with my students in order to understand their strengths, weaknesses and interests in order to teach them in the most effective way. Our lessons are always fun, productive and efficient.

Fun Facts About Me

I am writing a comedy-drama screenplay and pre-lockdown I was an improvisation and stand up comedian. My favourite gig was at The Comedy Pub in Central London - people actually laughed! I also had a podcast and radio show at Northwick Park Hospital for 3 years.

Aside from this, I am learning Spanish and read at least one novel a week.

My daughter really likes her and has a very good rapport with her. She makes learning easy and fun. After every lesson, Ladan sends me a feedback which is very constructive and helpful. She is a wonderful teacher, who has a real ability of dealing with children. We have had to sometimes reschedule lessons and Ladan has been very flexible and most of the time, she has accommodated our requests. I highly recommend her to anyone."
  • GCSE Maths
"Ladan Sadjadi has been my daughter’s GCSE maths tutor in throughout Year 11. My daughter has always struggled with maths and we had used tutors before, without really making any difference to her confidence or her results. Ladan immediately established a rapport with my daughter and very quickly her belief in her own ability began to improve, and consequently her test results were much better than they ever had been. Ladan taught my daughter on line via Skype twice a week, kept her engaged and interested and was always very reliable, giving us plenty of notice if lessons needed to be re scheduled and being flexible when we had other commitments. I highly recommend Ladan and she made a real difference to my daughter in her study of Maths."

I was educated at Millfield School, where I received an academic scholarship. I achieved an A* in my Economics A Level, obtaining full marks in my exams in the second year. I became passionate about Economics and Politics at school and subsequently attended Newcastle University where I studied these subjects. I am from a family of teachers and tutors and have wide range of teaching experiences. I started teaching when I was selected to support low level GCSE Maths when I was studying for my A-Levels at school. It was from watching these pupils progress that my passion for teaching and tutoring was ignited. I have two years experience teaching in Italy and a further year supporting children struggling in Primary school. I am a positive and energetic person and I like to inspire and enthuse my students with positive praise. ...
I've been tutoring and working with children part time since I finished school in 2014, and have graduated from Oxford University, where I studied English literature. Before that, I took IB at Wellington College, in which I scored 43 out of a possible 45 points. I've tutored in London, Oxford and Hong Kong, worked as a nanny, and set up and continue to run a school sponsorship program in Nepal, which provides disadvantaged children with the opportunity to be educated in Kathmandu. For me, one of the most rewarding aspects of tutoring is helping students gain confidence in something they thought they would never understand, or felt they weren't good at, turning a daunting task into something enjoyable. I've worked with children who range from 3 to 23 years old, but have most experience with Common Entrance at 11+ and 13+. The breath of the IB course means that I'm able to teach a range of subjects to a high standard, and have great experience balancing academic work with other areas of life, as well as finding important overlaps between diverse subjects and interests. ...

I’m a postgraduate medical student at King’s College London and Bristol University graduate with a passion for a wide range of subjects. Studying humanities to A level, focusing on crop genetics during my undergraduate degree and now working to become a doctor translates well into tutoring a varied curriculum and ensures I’ve had plenty of experience in the process of learning. I'm an enthusiastic tutor; effective tutoring raises children’s confidence and gives them skills which they can take far beyond our sessions, which is my favourite aspect of the job. ...
I have been tutoring in the private sector since 2007. Whilst completing my studies I had experience tutoring mathematics for ages 12-16 (including GCSE). During my gap year I worked as a cover supervisor at Simon Langton Girls' Grammar school where I had experience teaching mathematics to Year 8 (12-13 years old) and to a GCSE class. I also had experience teaching Core 1 (AS mathematics model) to a group of highly able students who were taking the exam a year early. Whilst completing my degree I had further experience tutoring GCSE mathematics.

I attended Girton College at the University of Cambridge and studied on the Natural Science Tripos. She took modules in mathematics, chemistry, material science, biochemistry, psychology, neurobiology and physiology. I recently completed a Masters in Clinical Neuroscience at King's College London in which I achieved a distinction and was awarded the Gold Medal for achieving the highest mark in the year. I have since returned to King's to undertake their four year graduate medicine course.
