Peter Minnig - Private Tutor in Cambridge
I was born and raised in Washington, D.C., attending area private schools until matriculating at Yale University in 2008. After graduating, I spent several years working in PR, Marketing, and Content Creation roles before moving to the UK in 2017 to pursue my MPhil in Film and Screen Studies at Cambridge. I have worked with Wentworth since 2018, focusing mainly on US entrance exams for secondary schools and university.
I have worked successfully with clients both in-person and via Skype. In addition to teaching the material covered in these exams, I use my personal familiarity with the tests to focus particularly on helping students get used to the stressful and strange test-taking experience so that their results can best represent their full potential.

My Tutoring & Teaching Experience
In addition to helping my younger sister through the U.S. college process, I tutored middle school students while in high school and served as a music camp counselor for younger students. After graduating from Yale, I have served as an alumni interviewer annually, meeting with high school seniors as they apply to college.
Since joining Wentworth, I have tutored and mentored students in Japan and online via Skype.
My Approach to Tutoring
My approach to tutoring--particularly with standardized tests--focuses as much on building confidence and comfort as learning and mastering new material. I work with students to diagnose areas for improvement and then create a plan to ensure that difficult problems become familiar and second-nature. By taking away the fear from hard elements of test-taking, students gain more confidence and are less prone to making mistakes through the whole test.
Fun Facts About Me
I have been fortunate to indulge my passions for photography, filmmaking, and motorsport professionally while working for Volkswagen of America. I sang for years in various church choirs in the U.S. and traveled the world as a member of the Yale Spizzwinks(?) a cappella group during college. Since moving to Cambridge, I have been bitten by the rowing bug, and on early, cold mornings you can usually find me sitting in a boat somewhere on the Cam.
