Richard Blewitt - Private Tutor in London
What is the key to successful learning? Interest! Sadly, this is not a feeling that is shared by a number of maths students, hence their struggle. My joy of my job, is to incite a sense of passion and enthusiasm for maths that will breed future success.
I am extremely familiar with the maths syllabus (from the ages of 4-18). I was able to take my maths GCSE a year early and receive an A*; following that I received 99% in one of my maths A level modules and came out with an A* overall. I then went on to graduate from the University of Sheffield studying Business Management with Maths. Currently, I am a part qualified ACA Chartered Accountant and I expect to be fully qualified by December 2020.
However, as a teacher, it is not my past achievements in the mathematical field that are important, but the future achievements of the student. And how I can help them achieve success.
What gives me the edge when teaching is how I effectively communicate my knowledge to the student. I believe communication is key. This is why I have worked hard to make communication is my speciality.
My method is simple; I focus on breaking down challenging topics down into small “bitesize chunks” enabling the information to be delivered in a more manageable way for my students.
I feel it is important to create a safe learning space which allows my students to feel comfortable enough to make mistakes. As I utilise these mistakes and turn them into opportunities for learning, rather than things to be penalised for.
I am available for both skype and home visits, and I look forward to hearing from you.

My Tutoring & Teaching Experience
I have been teaching since 2011, in both classrooms and one-on-one sessions; and I am proud to say that I have received shining reviews from all of my students. The most invaluable aspect of my teaching style is my ability to maintain the engagement of my students, and keeping them motivated to learn. I can also speak Spanish and have a TEFL course qualification which allows me to dynamically tailor my lessons and adapt my teaching methods to suit each student individually.
My Approach to Tutoring
For me, maths makes sense. But it was not always this way. I was able to overcome my initial struggles and make this subject my greatest strength.
As a result, I am able to draw upon my own personal experience to fully empathise with my students. I understand that the topic can seem tricky and even insurmountable at times, and I too have felt this way in the past.
But, my personal experiences and my rise to success demonstrate that every student is capable of achieving the best results. For some, this requires additional help, someone to be patient with them and take the time to break down challenging topics and reversing the preconceived notions that certain topics are impossible.
I work by encouraging the student to take on the maths problems for themselves, rather than spoon-feeding them answers. This allows the student to truly understand the content on a deeper level and is the key to long-term memory retention and ultimately, good grades.

I grew up in Devon and went to a local Grammar School, where I first started tutoring whilst studying for my A-levels. I went on to study Mathematics at Trinity College, Cambridge, graduating in 2013 with an MA (1st-class) and MMATH (Merit). I was offered a place at Warwick University to study for my PhD, but ended up changing fields. I am now studying Medicine on an accelerated graduate entry program at Barts and the London School of Medicine, graduating in 2018.
Although I've ended my own career in Maths for now I have never lost my passion for the subject, and enjoy continuing this through tutoring. I've worked with students of all abilities, with the bulk of my experience tutoring Maths and Physics at A-level and GCSE standard. I also tutor Biology and Chemistry, drawing on the past two years I have spent studying Medicine. I am a fourth year Physics PhD student at UCL. My occupation relies on my ability to understand complex theoretical concepts and explain them to both technical and non-technical experts.
I am a high achiever, obtaining a First Class (Hons) MPhys Theoretical Physics from The University of Sheffield. In my final year I scored the highest grade in the University for "Analytical Dynamics and Classical Field Theory" (93%). Edward Smith – Private Tutor in London
I studied mathematics at Trinity College Cambridge; I graduated with a MA (1st) and a MMATH (Distinction); and was a Senior Scholar. Before Cambridge I went to school in Aiglon College, a premium boarding school in Switzerland. I grew up in England and Switzerland, but also lived in Asia and Africa as a child.
I started tutoring and helping other students learn in school and have been tutoring for around 15 years. I have mostly tutored maths and physics from 13+ and Common Entrance all the way up to University degree level. With Wentworth Tutors, I have also helped several students prepare for interviews with Strategy Consultancy firms: for internships, in the graduate milkround and for experienced hire positions. However, when I worked as a strategy consultancy, I also ran general business and technical skills training for groups and in 1-on-1 teaching. As a consultant I regularly helped train colleagues in Excel, programming, and SQL; and even wrote some of the courses.
Prior to co-founding Wentworth Tutors, I worked at OC&C Strategy Consultants, a top tier strategy consultancy, based in London. I am Wentworth Tutors’ business manager – setting the business strategy as well as managing the day to day operation and administration of the business. ...
